About

Yana Lechtman, Psy.D., is a Clinical Psychologist with over 15 years of training and experience in her field. From an early age, she had a strong fascination with the human psyche, and it was clear that being a therapist was her natural path. Currently, she runs her private practice in NYC, Blue Lotus Psychological Services; and serves as a staff clinician and supervisor at the Galynker Family Center for Bipolar Disorders. Affiliated with Columbia University, Dr. Lechtman also holds the position of Adjunct Assistant Professor at Teacher’s College.

Dr. Lechtman began her career working with adults and children suffering from severe and persistent mental illness and suicidality, with a focus on emotional regulation and relational challenges. She obtained her doctorate from The Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology, which is a division of Albert Einstein College of Medicine at Yeshiva University, NYC. Dr. Lechtman completed an internship at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, followed by a Fellowship at Lenox Hill Hospital in Manhattan, New York.

In recent years, her interests have expanded, and she has now become deeply involved in the realms of psychedelics and psychotherapy. To further enhance her knowledge and skills, Dr. Lechtman pursued additional training in this specialized area. This included completing a certificate training program in Psychedelic Harm Reduction and Integration Therapy at Fluence, and a certificate program in Psychedelic Assisted Psychotherapy at the Integrative Psychiatry Institute and the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS).

Dr. Lechtman has also taken the opportunity to contribute to the field by sharing her expertise through several presentations, and published articles in academic and non-academic journals. She also published a book titled "The Self-Discovery Journal: 52 Weeks of Reflection, Inspiration, and Growth." Dr. Lechtman attributes her achievements to her unwavering passion for, and love of, the exploration of the human psyche and human connections.
