Dr. Weiner’s passion for treating the upper extremity comes from years of specialized training and research, including a traveling fellowship to train with leading European shoulder and elbow surgeons and a clinical research role at the Cleveland Clinic. He has co-authored multiple peer-reviewed articles and book chapters regarding shoulder and elbow disorders, and he has presented findings at national orthopedic meetings. Dr. Weiner is a proponent of shared decision-making with his patients. His attention to a patient’s needs, preferences, and lifestyle help guide and optimize care. “In working with a patient, we are able to devise a treatment plan that will maximize recovery while minimizing inconvenience,” he says. The highlight of his work is helping patients recover from injury and return to their favorite activities. In his free time, Dr. Weiner enjoys golfing and rooting for New York sports teams.

A 2012 graduate of the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Weiner went on to perform his residency in orthopedic surgery at Plainview Hospital. He followed this up with an orthopedic shoulder and elbow fellowship at Johns Hopkins University.

Dr. Weiner’s dedication to treating upper extremity conditions is rooted in years of specialized training and research. This includes a valuable traveling fellowship during which he trained under the guidance of prominent European shoulder and elbow surgeons, as well as a pivotal clinical research role at the esteemed Cleveland Clinic. 

As a testament to his success, the doctor is board certified in orthopedic surgery by the American Osteopathic Board of Orthopedic Surgery (AOBOS). The AOBOS is an organization that provides board certification to qualified Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine (DOs) who specialize in the medical and surgical treatment of disorders of the musculoskeletal system (orthopedic surgeons).

In affiliation with several professional organizations, Dr. Weiner is an active member of the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons and the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons.
