Dr. Patel, a board-certified dermatologist, is the Founder of Advance Dermatology & Laser Medical Center, Inc. in Marina Del Rey, California. She has extensive experience in general dermatology, skin cancer surgery, cosmetic procedures and lasers.
As a specialist who treats disorders of the skin, hair and nails, she treats patients of all ages – from infants to the elderly. Some of the common skin conditions that can be treated include: acne rosacea, rashes from sun damage, eczema, skin cancer, allergic reactions, moles, fungal infections, and warts.
In order to improve texture, complexion, and wrinkles, Dr. Patel performs a variety of cosmetic procedures and can recommend procedures that address aging and sun damage to achieve a more youthful and natural appearance. She also uses the most advanced laser systems so men and women from Marina del Rey can achieve the most effective results in body contouring, collagen rejuvenation, treatment of facial veins, sun/age spots, and hair and tattoo removal.
Currently an Assistant Clinical Professor at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, she teaches dermatology residents, rotating residents, and medical students on a volunteer basis.
Back in 1987, Dr. Patel received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences and her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of California, Irvine, graduating Magna Cum Laude. She then went on to obtain her medical degree from the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA in 1991, after which she completed her residency in dermatology at the UCLA and VA West Los Angeles Medical Centers in 1995.
Specializing in treating conditions of the skin, the doctor is board-certified in dermatology by the American Board of Dermatology (ABD). The ABD is a voluntary, non-profit, private, autonomous organization formed for the primary purpose of protecting the public interest by establishing and maintaining high standards of training, education, and qualifications of physicians rendering care in dermatology.
A Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and a Fellow of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, Dr. Patel has received a Board Certificate in Laser Surgery and Medicine and is a Member of the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery.
