A native of Nairobi, Kenya, he earned his Associate of Science degree from Northern Virginia Community College in 2010, and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from Virginia Tech in 2012. He graduated with his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the Meharry Medical College School of Dentistry, and completed the AEGD Program at The UNC Adams School of Dentistry.

Dentistry, also known as Dental and Oral Medicine, is a branch of medicine that consists of the study, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases, disorders, and conditions of the oral cavity. Dentists diagnose and treat dental issues and help patients develop better oral hygiene regimens.
