Since 1836, Emory University’s mission—to create, preserve, teach, and apply knowledge in the service of humanity—has guided the university in its work to drive discovery, serve the common good, and prepare leaders to make a difference in the world.
A 2011 graduate of the University of Alabama, Dr. Linder earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2017. Soon after, she headed north to the Arnot Ogden Medical Center, where she completed her residency in internal medicine in 2020. Finally, she completed her fellowship in nephrology at Emory University in 2022.
Nephrology is a specialty of medicine and pediatrics that concerns itself with the kidneys. It is the study of normal kidney function and kidney disease, the preservation of kidney health, and the treatment of kidney disease, from diet and medication to renal replacement therapy. Nephrologists have advanced training in treating kidney disease. They diagnose and treat kidney failure, as well as help patients by prescribing medications, offering special diet advice, and coordinating dialysis care or kidney transplantation when it becomes necessary.
On a more personal note, Dr. Linder has three special people in her life who have inspired her – her mother, who is the strongest and most inspiring woman she has ever met, her brother, who has always been there to push her and lift her up whenever she needed it, and her husband, who serves as her source of daily inspiration, strength and encouragement. She aspires to accomplish true happiness and satisfaction within her life and her career, while also greatly improving people’s lives and the field of medicine.
