Dr. Gannavarapu is a fellowship-trained gastroenterologist at inSite Digestive Health Care. He operates out of the offices in Los Gatos, Mountain View, and San Jose, California & is able to offer online tele-health services for patients who want to see or speak to the provider from the comfort of their home.
Specializing in therapeutic interventional endoscopy, Dr. Gannavarapu focuses on minimally invasive endoscopic procedures, including endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) and endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP). His clinical focus is on the diagnosis and management of pancreaticobiliary diseases, including biliary obstruction, pancreatitis, and pancreatic cancer. Other areas of focus include endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR) for early gastrointestinal malignancy, including large colon polyps; management of Barrett’s Esophagus, including radiofrequency ablation; staging and palliation of gastrointestinal malignancy; and bariatric endoscopy.

He practices gastroenterology based on proven, evidence-based medicine while executing his technical skills and clinical judgment to provide the best clinical outcome possible for his patients.

After graduating from Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science/The Chicago Medical School, Dr. Gannavarapu went on to complete his residency in internal medicine at the University of California, Irvine. He followed by performing his fellowship in gastroenterology at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. He then went on to complete a 4th year fellowship in advanced endoscopy at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, Illinois.
A member of the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, the doctor is board-certified in gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
Before starting his practice in San Jose, Dr. Gannavarapu was on staff at the University of Illinois Medical Center in Chicago, as an interventional gastroenterologist.
