Get to know Hospitalist Dr. Pallavi Aneja, who serves patients in Plantation, Florida.

A devoted hospitalist, Dr. Aneja is affiliated with Westside Regional Medical Center in Plantation, Florida.

Founded in 1974, Westside Regional Medical Center has evolved into an award-winning 250-bed hospital that is recognized for providing a wide array of services to the residents of Broward County, South Florida and visitors from around the world. They are continuously expanding and bringing on the latest technology that enables them to provide leading edge services to the population they serve.

Born and raised in India, Dr. Aneja completed her medical education at the Crimea State Medical University in Ukraine in 2004. After relocating to the United States in 2006, she completed her residency in internal medicine at the Loyola University Medical Center in 2010.

An authority in her field, the doctor is board-certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Hospital medicine is a medical specialty that exists in some countries as a branch of internal or family medicine, dealing with the care of acutely ill hospitalized patients. The primary focus is caring for hospitalized patients and co-management with other specialties. Hospitalists take an active part in medical care and ensure a safe discharge for the patients they take care of. They are being increasingly involved in administrative roles, given their expertise and collaboration with various teams in the hospital. 

A busy mother of two, she lives in Fort Lauderdale and thoroughly enjoys cooking and writing, which she has had a passion about since childhood. Her first work of fiction – Elixir Vitae – was inspired by her compassion in medicine. She is also trained in Indian Classical dance, Bharatanatyam, and has performed since age 3, throughout her school years. While she was in Ukraine, she won the ‘Miss University Pageant’ contest of beauty and talent. A multilingual, she is fluent in English, Hindi, Russian, Punjabi, and Tamil.
