Dr. Caldwell’s extensive education and training underscore her commitment to excellence in pain management. She completed her undergraduate studies at Penn State University, where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa as a Schreyer’s Honors Scholar. She earned her Medical Degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, followed by an internship in internal medicine at Trinity Health Ann Arbor Hospital and a residency in anesthesia at the University of Michigan. Dr. Caldwell further honed her skills at the prestigious MD Anderson Cancer Center and completed her Master of Healthcare Administration Degree in 2013.
Before joining Vitality Pain Center, Dr. Caldwell served as an Assistant Professor and Researcher at the Penn State College of Medicine for six years and practiced in the Glasgow area. Her passion for patient-centered care and her commitment to advancing the field of pain management are evident in her active roles within various professional organizations. Dr. Caldwell serves on the Board of Trustees for the American College of Medical Quality and is the Committee Co-Chair for their Member Education and Engagement Committee. Additionally, she is an active member of the American Society of Anesthesiology, where she contributes to the Ethics Committee and serves as an editor for the Ethics Syllabus.
Having received numerous accolades for her contributions to the field, Dr. Caldwell was named the Top Pain Management Physician in Pennsylvania and Kentucky by Top Doctor in 2018 and has consistently been recognized as a Top Doctor since 2013. Her commitment to quality and patient satisfaction earned her the Young Investigator Award from the American Pain Society in 2007. In 2018, she was also recognized in the Who’s Who List by the Continental Who’s Who of National Business Leaders.
Named a Kentucky Colonel in 2003, Dr. Caldwell has an extensive publication record, including numerous articles and several book chapters. Notably, she authored the opening chapter of Medical Quality Management (third edition) and published an influential article in Simulation in Healthcare in 2019, exploring the impact of 3D printing on healthcare and medical education.
Outside of her professional endeavors, Dr. Caldwell enjoys gourmet cooking, attending opera performances, and reading. She has a deep appreciation for the beautiful landscapes of Kentucky, a state she fell in love with during her medical school years. Dr. Caldwell is also engaged to her fiancé, a native Kentuckian from Metcalfe County.
