Who I am as a Therapist
As your therapist, I will be compassionate, open to feedback, curious, and authentic. “I’m not enough” is a fear I’ve wrestled with, and a theme I hear from clients who have experienced trauma, are battling identity-based -isms, are wrestling with the complex emotions of being a teenager, and/or are coping with the stress of parenting. Some of the questions we explore are: “What if past hurt/betrayal doesn’t define us? What if we allow ourselves to be human - flawed and powerful - instead of trying to be Wonder Woman or Superman?” I will invite you into a healing space, nudging as needed, but never pushing beyond where you are ready. We will collaboratively identify steps to reach your goals. I will help you heal from pain, develop relationships that affirm you, and empower you to become a more self-compassionate and authentic you.
My Values
One of my core values is to honor and affirm the experiences, identities, and values of others, creating a space where all of who you are feels safe and welcome. As the mom of a multiracial family, anti-racism work is close to my heart, but I also strive to be an advocate and ally alongside individuals who experience identity-based oppression, whether that’s based on race, ethnicity, gender identity, immigration status, religion, sexual orientation, age, or size.
