Mariel Ayala, DMD, an Associate Dentist at SaluDental in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico, has been honored as the Top Dentist 2024 by Women in Medicine. This recognition underscores her dedication to excellence in dental care, as well as her commitment to improving the overall health of her community.

Dr. Ayala’s journey in the field of dentistry began at the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez, where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Biology. Her passion for the sciences led her to pursue a Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry Degree from the prestigious University of Puerto Rico School of Dental Medicine at the Medical Science Campus. Throughout her education, Dr. Ayala developed a robust foundation in oral health, which has become the cornerstone of her practice.

To further enhance her skills and clinical experience, Dr. Ayala completed a General Dentistry Residency within the Department of Dentistry at Albert Einstein College of Medicine-Montefiore Medical Center. This rigorous training not only equipped her with advanced techniques and knowledge but also solidified her commitment to providing the highest standard of dental care to her patients. 

In her role at SaluDental, Dr. Ayala specializes in preventing, diagnosing, and treating a range of diseases and conditions associated with dental health.
