Will I get a brace after ankle surgery?
Every surgeon provides different guidance for their post operative care and every patient surgery is unique. However, for most of my patients following an ankle surgery I will be placing them in either a cast, splint, boot, or brace following the procedure depending all that took place during the operation. Would it be best to go through the laser therapy sessions or find a different doctor
Every patient / pathology is slightly different. If not seeing the improvement you want I would always get a second opinion before jumping into a surgery. There are multiple different conservative / non-surgical options that can be tried before surgery and every doctor has a slightly different approach to the art of medicine and healing. Is swollen feet and ankles a serious condtion?
Swollen feet can be a sign of a serious condition which is why it is important to have a thorough evaluation by a podiatric physician. It could be due to a vascular condition such as peripheral vascular disease. Discolored toe
The nail color and texture can be an indication of infection or systemic disease. It is a good idea to have a podiatric physician take a look so they can help diagnose and treat the problem. Dr. Brookshier is a passionate doctor of podiatry seeing patients at North Park Podiatry in San Diego, California. He took over for Dr. Forg, who had been a mentor and a role model to him for several years.

Growing up in El Cajon, he attended Christian High School where he met his high school sweetheart, Annalisa. He then went on to earn his undergraduate degree from UC Irvine, after which he worked at UCSD hospital as a lab technician on the organ procurement team.
Dr. Brookshier went to Western U in LA for medical school and completed his 3 year surgical residency at Scripps Mercy Hospital in San Diego. During his residency, he completed over 1,500 surgical procedures. He then went to Kaiser Fontana for further trauma and reconstructive training.
Prior to arriving at Scripps, Dr. Brookshier completed externships throughout the country at hospitals such as Harvard teaching facility, Swedish Seattle, and Cedars-Sinai LA.

Happily married, Dr. Brookshier and his wife, Annalisa, have three sons: Bryer, Desmond, and Calvin. His hobbies outside of medicine include sports of all kinds, hiking, dancing, running, going to the beach, and watching Survivor.
