Get to know Dermatologist Dr. Tomas Huerta, who serves patients in Omaha, Nebraska.

A top professional in the field of dermatology, Dr. Huerta works with patients at Methodist Physicians Clinic in Omaha, Nebraska. He is trained in Mohs micrographic surgery, a technique that treats skin cancer by removing cancerous areas while preserving as much healthy tissue as possible. He is also skilled in reconstructive facial plastic surgery.

He attended the University of Michigan Medical School for his medical education, graduating in 2017, and continued there to complete his residency in dermatology in 2021, serving as chief resident in his final year. Recently, he completed an ACGME-accredited fellowship in micrographic surgery and dermatologic oncology at the Medical University of South Carolina under the direction of world-renowned Mohs surgeon, Dr. Joel Cook.

As a testament of his continued education, the doctor is board-certified in dermatology by the American Board of Dermatology, which is a voluntary, non-profit, private, autonomous organization formed for the primary purpose of protecting the public interest by establishing and maintaining high standards of training, education, and qualifications of physicians rendering care in dermatology.

Outside of work, Dr. Huerta and his wife enjoy cheering for the Huskers and spending time with their greyhound, Millie, and pug, Dolly.
