A family physician is often the first person a patient sees when seeking healthcare services. They examine and treat patients with a wide range of conditions and refer those with serious ailments to a specialist or appropriate facility.

Originally from Maryland, Dr. Barragan was drawn to the area after spending time during his youth training at IMG Academy in Bradenton and Athletic Edge Sports in Lakewood Ranch. His family has strong ties to the area, with relatives who were members of both the world-famous Ringling Circus and the Circus Arts Conservatory in Sarasota. He currently lives close to where he practices with his wife Jess, daughter Charlize, and dog Oshie.
