Get to know Gastroenterologist Dr. Maryann Osakhomen Osayande, who serves patients in Sugar Land, Texas and surrounding areas.

Recognized as a well-known gastroenterologist, Dr. Osayande is affiliated with GI Alliance/Texas Digestive Disease Consultants. With an interest in performing GI procedures, she chose to specialize in gastroenterology to provide comprehensive care for patients with gastrointestinal and liver disorders. She is proficient in performing a range of procedures, including upper endoscopy, enteroscopy, colonoscopy, and capsule endoscopy. 

In regards to her educational background, she obtained her undergraduate degree in psychology at Tulane University and earned her medical degree from the University of Texas – Medical Branch. Following her medical education, she completed her residency in internal medicine at Duke University, before completing her fellowship at UT Southwestern, where she gained specialized training in gastroenterology and hepatology.

Passionate about her profession, the doctor is board-certified in gastroenterology and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

As a dedicated professional, Dr. Osayande maintains active memberships in esteemed organizations such as the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and the Texas Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. 

Gastroenterology is the branch of medicine focused on the digestive system and its disorders. A gastroenterologist is a physician who has extensive training in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders related to the esophagus, stomach, small intestines, colon, liver, pancreas, and biliary system.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Dr. Osayande enjoys engaging in a variety of activities outside the office. She finds joy in playing basketball, exploring new travel destinations, and spending quality time with her friends and family.
