Get to know Family Physician & Sports Medicine Specialist Dr. R.J. Turner, who serves patients in Bellaire, Texas.

A devoted family physician & sports medicine specialist, Dr. Turner is affiliated with UT Physicians Orthopedics at Memorial Hermann | Rockets Orthopedic Hospital. He sees patients of all ages and provides tailored treatment plans for a wide range of injuries related to sports and exercise.

Academically, Dr. Turner received his Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology from Vanderbilt University and his Master of Science degree from the University of South Florida. He then went on to earn his medical degree and completed both his internship and residency in family medicine at UTHealth Houston.

Dedicated to clinical excellence, the doctor is board-certified in family medicine and sports medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM). The ABFM is a non-profit, independent medical association of American physicians who practice family medicine and its sub-specialties.

In addition to his clinical role, he is the Team Physician for the Houston Dynamo, the Houston Dash, and St. Thomas University. He also serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston.
