Can acid reflux be cured?
What a great question and thank you for asking! Some acid reflux can be cured. Generally during the reflux means identifying the triggers and foods that worsen reflux. Making sure you have sufficient time for food to go down your food pipe and not sleeping directly after eating or laying down, staying away from acidic, spicy or other caustic foods can help. Taking an antacid correctly can help. Generally, at 10 take some time to identify causes and limit symptoms. When in doubt, you can always speak to a nutritionist or dietitian, or integrative or functional medicine physician, and start with an elimination diet and some postural or behavioral changes to help limit reflux. Medication‘s may be indicated, and some testing may be indicated along with food allergy, testing and testing for a bacteria that may be living in the stomach. Occasionally stool testing is also helpful. And worst case scenarios or in progressive disease sometimes getting an endoscopy or a camera down your throat looking into esophagus, and your stomach can also be helpful. The goal is to prevent further acid from entering into your esophagus, causing potential cellular changes, including cancer. What can you eat when you have gastritis and diarrhea?
Hi! Sorry to hear you are suffering. Often with Gastritis and Diarrhea, you may be dehydrated if these symptoms are prolonged, so I definitely recommend speaking with your Primary Care Physician (any Internal Medicine or General Practice Physician will do) as if these symptoms last longer than a week or you start to feel dizzy or are completely unable to eat or start vomiting along with these symptoms or are getting worse. The recommended diet is called a "BRAT diet", and generally consists of Bananas, Rice, Applesauce and Toast. This diet is helpful for anyone who has nausea, vomiting or diarrhea. Hi! High Blood pressure (also known as hypertension) can be due t a multitude of causes. Commonly though, diet/exercise/lifestyle and/or genetics can play a role as well as diseases of certain organs like the kidneys. High Blood Pressure also can occur secondary to other medical issues. If you have high blood pressure, it is recommended that you lower salt and carbohydrate intake and increase exercising both with resistance training and aerobic exercises (lifting weights or using resistance bands or spinning/running depending on what your body can handle) and see a physician as you may need medication to help lower your blood pressure. Speak with your physician to help pinpoint things that are within your control that you can change but also to get assistance in figuring out if other things are causing your blood pressure to be high.
