Pertaining to his educational pursuits, he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from the University of Florida Honors College in 2011, and earned his medical degree from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine in 2015. He completed a residency in General Surgery at the Mount Sinai Medical Center in 2020 and was named the Howard Kane Resident of the Year as a Chief Resident. He then completed a fellowship in Cardiothoracic Surgery at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center in 2022 and was published in thenAorta Journal and presented research at national meetings. He gained additional experience through clinical rotations in Thoracic Oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and Congenital Cardiac Surgery at Columbia University. 

Dr. Nieber’s subspecialty is Adult Cardiac Surgery and he has a particular interest in treating aortic root/ascending aortic aneurysms, valve-sparing aortic root replacement, complex mitral valve repair, minimally invasive cardiac surgery, and septal myectomy for hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. His practice also offers patients robotic thoracic surgery for treatment of lung cancer and peripheral/endovascular surgery for aortic, carotid and femoral artery disease.

Recognized as a Certified Member of the Phi Beta Kappa Society, Dr. Nieber is board-certified in General Surgery by the American Board of Surgery (ABS) and is board-eligible with the American Board of Thoracic Surgery (ABTS).
