Katie Dimond, the owner and director of Crossroads Speech Therapy, is committed to providing the best speech and occupational therapy to every child and adult who visits the practice. Additionally, Katie has three young children, one of whom has a history of childhood apraxia of speech (CAS).

Katie has been in practice since 2008 and has extensive experience treating children and adults with speech and language delays and disorders. Her services have been in high demand since that time, and many schools, daycares, and doctor’s offices recommend her and her expertise in the field. Katie founded Crossroads Speech Therapy in 2016 and has since assembled an exceptional team to serve the Chicago and suburban Chicago communities. Katie chooses each team member who possesses a caring, personable, and engaging personality; is from an incredible program; has extensive experience; is knowledgeable and skilled, and enjoys communicating about your child. She is extremely proud of the team she has created.

Katie received her Bachelor’s degree in Speech and Hearing Science at the University of Illinois in 2006 and her Master’s degree in Communication Science and Disorders from Saint Louis University in 2008. She is a certified speech and language pathologist in Illinois, a member of the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association as well as the North Suburban Speech &. Language Association, and holds her PEL license in Illinois. Katie has completed many advanced trainings in the field and she is advanced PROMPT trained, has completed the Advanced Training Workshop for Childhood Apraxia of Speech presented by Dr. Edythe Strand Ph.D., and is a clinical researcher for the Once Upon A Time Foundation and Practice Team at the Marquette CML Lab . She can be found on the Apraxia Kids website as a provider for childhood apraxia of speech.

Katie specializes in childhood apraxia of speech, articulation and phonological disorders, feeding/swallowing, and expressive and receptive language disorders. She is energetic and fun, and kids love working with her! Children enjoy sessions with her and meet their goals quickly when working with her.

Katie loves being a part of the community and is always there to help and support clients and their families. Katie often presents on children development as well as speech and occupational therapy for daycares, schools, and professional offices. She enjoys getting to know people and forming relationships with families and members of the community.

Katie Dimond is featured in Voyage Chicago Magazine and also developed the curriculum for a Speech Development class for toddlers at Bubbles Academy in Chicago. Toddler Talkers is a class that is taught weekly at Bubbles Academy by one of the Crossroads speech therapists.
