With a broad educational background, he received his undergraduate degree in Biology at the University of North Carolina in Charlotte and went on to graduate from the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. After completing his medical education, he completed his residency in obstetrics & gynecology at Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Hartford, Connecticut.

In his clinical role, Dr. Almeida Larrea has a particular interest in providing comprehensive care for women, and is known for his expertise in obstetrics, preventive medicine, family planning, minimally invasive surgery, and urinary incontinence. He is also fluent in Spanish, which allows him to better serve patients from a variety of backgrounds.
