Get to know Pathologist Dr. Elizabeth P. Davaro, who serves patients in Tampa, Florida.

Dr. Davaro is a board certified AP/CP pathologist with an additional board certification in cytopathology.

With a lasting commitment to the prevention and care of cancer, Moffitt Cancer Center is working tirelessly in the areas of patient care, research, and education to advance one step further in fighting this disease. It is committed to the health and safety of patients and dedicated to providing expert cancer care.

Upon embarking on her professional journey, Dr. Davaro graduated with her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Notre Dame in 2013. She then went on to earn her medical degree from the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences, graduating with the class of 2017.

Dr. Davaro completed her residency in AP/CP pathology at Saint Louis University, and furthered her training, completing her first fellowship in cytopathology at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. She is currently finishing her second fellowship in Genitourinary & Gynecologic Pathology at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, Florida.

On a professional level, Dr. Davaro is an active member of multiple national associations including American Society of Cytopathologists (ASC), College of American Pathologists (CAP) and the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology (USCAP).

Pathology is a branch of medical science that involves the study and diagnosis of disease through the examination of surgically removed organs, tissues, bodily fluids, and in some cases, the whole body. Pathologists are physicians who specialize in the diagnosis and management of diseases by laboratory methods.
