  • Can Invisalign straighten front teeth?

Actually, Invisalign is better at straightening front teeth than back.  Back teeth are required for anchorage and to hold the trays in.  Good news, moving front teeth is faster than moving back ones.  Contact us for a consultation (merrit@dallaslaserdentistry.com). Hope this helps.     Mary SwiftDallas Laser Dentistrywww.dallascosmeticdentist.us READ MORE

  • Do crowns on front teeth last forever?

Forever is a big ask.  Insurance companies dont expect a crown to last forever and usually pay to replace crowns after 5 years.  If the patient is healthy and has a low decay rate we expect a crown to last a lot longer than 5 years.  A healthy patient, with low decay rate, no periodontal disease, good alignment and no grinding habit we expect a crown to last 10-15 years.  Most people replace crowns in the front of their mouth as gumline or to re-match the color of surrounding teeth to improve the esthetics.  Hope this helps. • When should I replace my partials?

A comfortable partial denture is like a good pair of comfortable shoes and breaking in a new partial can be like breaking in a new pair of shoes.  So its not unusual for patients to hold on to their partials as long as they can.  Two things happen to partials as they age.  One, the acrylic teeth wear down at a faster rate than natural teeth and two, the edentulous ridge (bone where teeth are gone) resorbs away with time leaving space between the denture and your gums.  Both of these issues jeopardize the teeth that support the denture.  Long story short, a dental examination would be needed to determine if the fit is still healthy or not.  I would say, typically replace every 5-10 years.  Hope this helps. • Can you replace all molar teeth with implants?

Yes.  All molars can be replaced with implants.  Implants are usually the best answer for replacing missing teeth.  Missing molars puts extra strain on the front teeth.  Front teeth are not designed to grind like molars and you shorten the life span of the front teeth when you are missing back teeth.  Dr. Mary SwiftDallas Laser Dentistrywww.dallascosmeticdentist.us READ MORE
