Get to know Plastic Surgeon Dr. Jose Aquino, who serves patients in Miami, Florida.

A renowned plastic surgeon, Dr. Aquino is the Chief Staff Surgeon at U The Clinic in Miami, Florida. He is an expert in body contouring with the latest generation techniques such as VASER, which provide the most beautiful and natural-looking results through a multidisciplinary treatment that includes preservation  liposuction.

Studying at the Santo Domingo Institute of Technology, Dr. Aquino earned his medical degree in 2006. He then relocated to the United States, performing his internship in general surgery at St. Vincent Catholic Medical Center in 2010.

Furthering his training, he completed his residency in general surgery at Westchester Medical Center in 2015, and his residency in plastic surgery at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 2018.

Plastic surgery is a surgical specialty involving the restoration, reconstruction, or alteration of the human body. It can be divided into two main categories – reconstructive surgery and cosmetic surgery. A plastic surgeon’s primary responsibility is performing surgical and non-surgical procedures, and they use a variety of reparative and reconstructive techniques to get the job done. 

Achieving brilliant experience in facial, body and breast procedures, Dr. Aquino has completed many publications, oral presentations, grand round presentations, and international lectures.

Among his various accolades include National Honor Student / Meeting with the Dominican Republic President Leonel Fernandez (1998), National Promise Award (Leaders of the Future) 2003-2007 (Dominican Republic), and Mara de ORO of Venezuela (International Plastic Surgeon of the Year 2019).

On a more personal note, Dr. Aquino is fluent in several languages, including English, Spanish, and Portuguese.
