In addition, his innovative surgical techniques, such as the novel approach for treating congenital vertebral anomalies in dogs and being one of the first veterinarian to receive the cervical disc arthroplasty (artificial disc) certification, and being the first private practice in Califirnia to offer stereotatic brain biopsy for animals, set him apart as a leader in the field. From decompressive surgery for intervertebral disc disease to complex procedures for conditions like hydrocephalus, Chiari malformation, and spinal and brain tumors, he consistently pushes the boundaries of neurosurgical excellence.

To begin his journey towards becoming a respected veterinarian, Dr. Gorgi’s education commenced at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, where he earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from 1999 to 2003, setting the foundation for his remarkable career. Seeking to further specialize in neurology and neurosurgery, he pursued clinical training at Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine from 2002 to 2003. 

Furthermore, the doctor’s commitment to continuous learning led him to The University of Georgia, where he completed a comprehensive internship from 2004 to 2005. Shortly after, he embarked on a rigorous residency program in Neurology/Neurosurgery at The Ohio State University and the University of Missouri-Columbia from 2005 to 2008. This intensive training period provided him with the specialized knowledge and expertise required to address complex neurological conditions in animals.

Beyond his clinical practice, Dr. Gorgi contributes significantly to the field of veterinary neurology as an adjunct clinical professor at Western University of Medical Sciences in Pomona, CA. His dedication to advancing the discipline led him to establish Southern California’s most advanced veterinary neurological center, benefiting patients from a diverse geographical area in Orang County, Los Angeles County, Riverside County, and beyond. 

In addition, he held lectures extensively on animal neurology and neurosurgery both nationally and internationally. His expertise has been sought after at prestigious events like the International Symposium in Veterinary Surgery, where he collaborates with other renowned veterinarians.
