What do you attribute your success to?
- recognition of hard work, struggle, and a drive not to be successful, but to try to be the best you can, not just in terms of elemental success, but for society in general. I recognized there was a substantial need for sick neurologic patients. There is a huge gap between the needs and the level of skill set that is in the community. The need was not being met, which is why I pursued all of this. There was no such thing as a neuro intensivist when I came into the field. I really wanted to be a leader in that ring.

Neurosurgery is the medical specialty concerned with the prevention, diagnosis, surgical treatment, and rehabilitation of disorders which affect any portion of the nervous system including the brain, spinal cord, peripheral nerves, and extra-cranial cerebrovascular system. Neurosurgeons are doctors who diagnose and treat problems with the nervous system, often by performing surgery on the brain or spine. They treat strokes, tumors, certain types of birth defects, infections, and head or spinal cord injuries.
Dr. Shah has a prolific history of sharing his expertise through international, national, and regional conference presentations and lectures at esteemed hospitals. His contributions also extend to the publication of numerous peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters.
