Get to know Hematologist-Oncologist Dr. Taras Benzar, who serves patients throughout the State of California.

An established hematologist-oncologist, Dr. Benzar is affiliated with The Oncology Institute of Hope & Innovation, working with patients at their offices in Torrance, Culver City, and Long Beach, California.

Throughout his academic journey, he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from York University in Toronto, Canada, and graduated with his medical degree from the Medical University of the Americas. He then went on to complete an intensive residency program in internal medicine at Louisiana State University, before completing a fellowship in hematology-oncology at LSU’s Feist-Weiller Cancer Center.

Following his training, the doctor attained board certification in hematology, medical oncology, and internal medicine through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Remaining up to date in his field, Dr. Benzar is an active member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American Society of Hematology, the American College of Physicians, and the American Medical Association.
