She pursued her education at the University of the West Indies School of Nursing in Jamaica, where she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Eager to further expand her knowledge and expertise, she went on to earn her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), specializing in psychiatric and mental health nursing from the Walden University.

Equipped with a solid educational foundation, Tameka started her professional career as a registered nurse, gaining over 10 years of valuable experience in various healthcare settings. Her unwavering commitment to her patients and her thirst for knowledge led her to pursue advanced practice nursing as a psychiatric nurse practitioner. Tameka is certified through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and is a member American Nurse Association, Maryland Nurses Association, American Association of Nurse Practiontioner and Honour Society of the National Society of Leadership and Success,

As a psychiatric nurse practitioner, Tameka possesses a unique skill set that allows her to provide holistic and evidence-based care to individuals facing mental health challenges. She conducts thorough assessments, diagnoses mental health disorders including but not limited to bipolar, schizophrenia, depression, anxiety, PTSD, ADHD, substance abuse; and develops personalized treatment plans tailored to each patient’s specific needs.

Tameka’s approach to mental health care is rooted in empathy, compassion, and respect for her patients. She believes in a collaborative and patient-centered approach, working closely with individuals to help them regain control of their lives and achieve optimal mental well-being.
