Get to know Dentist Dr. Emily Koester, who serves patients in Saginaw, Michigan.

Dr. Koester is a well-trained dentist who works alongside Dr. Curt Smith at Smith Family Dentistry in Saginaw, Michigan. Leveraging the latest technologies, they are committed to delivering top-notch dental services that are high-quality, reliable, affordable, and modern, catering to the diverse needs of all patients.

In 2023, Dr. Koester graduated from the Missouri School of Dentistry & Oral Health at A.T. Still University, bringing a wealth of experience in various dental specialties such as general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and more. During her education, she enhanced her skills through external rotations at health clinics in Kansas and Wisconsin.

Along with this experience, Dr. Koester has been involved in multiple organizations for volunteer work. She has taken part in Give Kids a Smile Events and Veteran Screenings hosted by A.T. Still University, contributing to the education and care of participants.

Devoted to providing advanced dental care, Dr. Koester continually hones her clinical skills through ongoing education. She is affiliated with esteemed dental programs, including the American Dental Association, the Michigan Dental Association, Delta Sigma Delta (International Dental Fraternity), and more. She was previously the Spiritual Chair Leader of the Catholic Medical Student Association at A.T. Still University. 

Dentistry, also known as Dental and Oral Medicine, is a branch of medicine that consists of the study, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases, disorders, and conditions of the oral cavity. Dentists diagnose and treat dental issues and help patients develop better oral hygiene regimens. They clean teeth, correct bite issues, perform surgeries, create beautiful smiles, and perform other duties to ensure that the teeth and mouth are healthy.

When she is not in the office, Dr. Koester enjoys listening to music, reading, knitting, traveling, being outdoors and spending time on the beach or a boat at the lake, walking nature trails, as well as spending time with family and friends.
