Throughout his academic career, Dr. Hays received his medical degree from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Medicine in 2018. He then went on to complete his internship and residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Tennessee Medical Center at Knoxville in 2023.

Obstetrics and gynecology (OB-GYN) is the medical specialty that encompasses the two subspecialties of obstetrics (covering pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period) and gynecology (covering the health of the female reproductive system – vagina, uterus, ovaries, and breasts).
