  • What's a good diet for losing weight?

Hello! Thanks so much for the question. Science has revealed that our bodies fight really hard against losing weight. So, when I work with clients, we dont focus specifically on weight loss. We discuss what you hope to gain by losing weightis it to have more energy and endurance, is it to feel better in your body, or is it to help with managing an illness? We dont know for sure if the positive health outcomes are from losing the weight, or from the positive behavior changes we make when trying to lose weight. So, with ALL of that being said, haha, there is not 1 diet that is more effective for weight loss. Nutrition is highly individualized and must be approached in that way. I would love to chat with you morefeel free to email me at tiffany.godwin@attunednutrition.us or visit our website at attunednutrition.us! READ MORE

Great question! It's tough to tell with mixed dishes- remember- nutrition is all about the big picture so don't get too lost in the details. Here are some general "rules of thumb" for seeing if you're hitting those DASH goals. 1 grain about a cupped handful or the size of a tennis ball 1 fruit/veggie a heaping handful or a fist 1 protein size of your palm or a deck of cards 1 fat the size of your thumb It might be helpful for you to work with a dietitian to help you reach your health goals!
