About

Kathy Martin is an acupuncturist practicing in Little Egg Harbor, NJ. Ms. Martin evaluates and treats patients based on the concepts of oriental medicine. Acupuncturists complete their evaluations by getting a patient history and performing an exam. Then, they place very fine acupuncture needles into specific points on the body.
Stimulating these points help unblock the body's natural energy pathways in order to treat the patients condition. Many of the systems of the body respond to acupuncture, and it can treat physical pain as well as emotional stress.

  • Does acupuncture fix chronic pain?

Hi, It can definitely help with chronic pain. Acupuncture by nature has muscle relaxing qualities, in addition to pain relieving qualities. In cases of chronic pain, it is wise to do acupuncture in a series of treatments. Some clients choose to come twice a week in order to really "tap" into the cumulative effect that serial visits produces. I would advise you to try it and see! READ MORE

  • How many acupuncture sessions are needed for a disc hernia?

Typically we can make an improvement in 6-12 visits. You can expedite rests by doing chiropractic care simultaneously especially if the chiropractor has a decompression machine, which can work well in combination with acupuncture. Kathy Martin, MS.Ac. Beach Acupuncture READ MORE

  • How many acupuncture treatments are needed for depression?

Regular weekly sessions can help with depression. It really depends how you respond, I would recommend 1-2 visits per week for about 8-12 weeks. If you are taking medication for depression, it is important to keep taking your meds. Diet is also important. Try to follow paleo or whole30 diet. Try to avoid processed foods. Get a good multivitamin supplement & probiotics with prebiotics. Limit consumption of alcohol & caffeine. Hope this helps you. Definitely give it a try. READ MORE

  • Allergy

Hello, Are your allergies related to your sinuses? Is your skin affected also? Many things cause allergies. Diet, environmental (air, products, health and beauty products, chemicals you work with, etc). Were you tested for allergies by an allergist? For allergies caused by the air, you may need allergy shots to desensitize yourself. For dietary allergies or even dietary sensitivities, you try removing different common allergy food groups. For example, you can try omitting dairy products for 2 weeks and see how your symptoms are. Dairy, gluten, egg, and other substances can cause allergies or even sensitivity reactions. Consider doing a food sensitivity test. These commonly go on sale in bundles, not covered by insurance unfortunately. If it is something you are interested in doing, I can order a test kit for you and you can do it on your own. We can discuss the results over the phone. My website is www.beachacuNJ.com. You can book a Food Sensitivity Consultation to learn more. I hope this helps you. Kathy Martin, MS.Ac. Beach Acupuncture READ MORE
