How long is anemia treatment?
This is a bit of a difficult question to answer as there a different types of anemia. If you have iron deficiency you could either be treated with oral iron, which can take up to 3-6 months to treat. Or you could get IV iron infusions which are typically given in 3-5 doses over the course of a couple weeks. Vitamin B12 deficiency can cause anemia and is treated either with daily oral supplement or monthly shots. There is also anemia of chronic disease which requires treatment of the underlying disease. Are vaccines effective for chicken pox?
Yes, the varicella (chicken pox) vaccine is 90% effective after the 2 dose series. It is about 60-80% effective after the first dose which is typically given at the one year old visit. I would highly recommend this vaccine as it has reduced chicken pox cases by about 97% since it came out and this level of herd immunity can protect those who are unable to be vaccinated. READ MORE
