Get to know Heather Maurer, who works in Irvine, California.

Heather serves as the Director of Clinical Strategic Alliances at Edwards Lifesciences, a global leader in patient-focused medical innovations for structural heart disease, critical care, and surgical monitoring.

Drawing upon 15 years of experience working in clinical research, both in clinic and industry settings, Heather guides medical device companies on conducting activities with regulatory integrity and clinical quality. Her therapeutic specialties extend to heart failure, general cardiology, interventional cardiology, and structural heart.

Scholastically, Heather graduated with her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology from the University of Denver in 2008. She then went on to earn her Graduate Certificate in Public Health from the University of Colorado School of Public Health in 2014.

Before joining Edwards Lifesciences, Maurer held various roles, including Clinical Research Manager at DEKA Research & Development (November 2019 – July 2021), Clinical Research Project Manager and Senior Clinical Research Specialist at Abiomed (June 2018 – November 2019; October 2017 – June 2018), Clinical Research Associate II of Cardiovascular Investigational Devices at Abbott (May 2016 – October 2017), Senior Professional Research Assistant of Cardiovascular Clinical Trials at the University of Colorado Denver (March 2012 – April 2016), and Senior Clinic Assistant at Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains (April 2009 – March 2012).

Actively involved in various professional associations, Heather is an esteemed member of the Heart Failure Society of America, the American College of Cardiology, the Cardiology Research Foundation, the American Society for Quality, and the Association of Clinical Research Professionals. Additionally, she holds certification as a Certified Medical Device Auditor (CMDA).

In her volunteer capacity, Heather has been dedicated to serving as the Team Leader of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation since August 1995.
