Having previously served in pivotal roles such as Assistant Medical Director and Assistant Physician at St. Louis General Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri, Dr. Daniel honed his skills in delivering exceptional patient care.
As an Assistant Physician, his responsibilities included providing both urgent and non-urgent healthcare services to individuals within the Urgent and Primary Care Practice, adhering to established clinic policies and standards. This entailed delivering appropriate care for a diverse patient population, conducting thorough patient examinations, diagnosing conditions, ordering necessary tests and referrals, and offering counseling on health and disease management to patients and their families.
In his role of Assistant Medical Director, Dr. Daniel’s duties involved designing monthly work schedules for all contracted physicians and employed providers, conducting chart audits, and providing academic and clinical teaching. Additionally, his responsibilities extended to training junior staff on various tasks, participating in staff hiring and disciplinary actions, addressing patient concerns, overseeing medical coding and billing, managing budgets, seeking approval for new clinic projects, and ensuring efficient inventory management and supply distribution.
In June 1994, Dr. Daniel graduated from Alleghany High School with a General Studies Diploma and completed the Welding Program at Jackson River Technical Center. Then, from October 1995 to January 1996, he attended the Central Shenandoah Criminal Justice Academy, becoming certified as a Virginia Law Enforcement Officer. Following this, Dr. Daniel completed the State Trooper Academy at the Virginia State Police Academy from June 1999 to January 2000. He achieved an Associates of Applied Sciences in Emergency Medical Services Technology from Northern Virginia Community College, graduating Magna cum Laude in August 2010.
Furthering his education, Dr. Daniel graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Leadership and Organizational Development from Eastern Mennonite University in May 2012. He completed health/medical electives at Blue Ridge Community College from May 2012 to May 2013, and then went on to earn a Doctor of Medicine from Saint James School of Medicine in March 2019. Lastly, Dr. Daniel completed the Family Medicine Residency Program at UAMS – Baptist Health from July 2020 to June 2023.
His dedication to lifelong learning and professional development led him to achieve board certification in family medicine, demonstrating his expertise and commitment to delivering exceptional patient care.
Dr. Daniel’s work experience spans various roles and responsibilities. Starting as an Emergency Services Provider at Clifton Forge Volunteer Rescue Squad from August 1992 to May 1999, he responded to emergency calls and maintained updated skills in EMS. During this time, he also worked as a Police Officer for the Clifton Forge Police Department from August 1995 to May 1999, handling routine patrols and enforcing laws. In June 1999, he transitioned to the Virginia State Police, serving as a State Trooper in Area 14 until February 2003, when he specialized in Counter-Terrorism and Criminal Interdiction until June 2008. Concurrently, he served as an Emergency Services Provider for the Clifton Forge Volunteer Rescue Squad from August 1992 to May 1999.
From June 2002 to June 2003, Dr. Daniel held the role of Captain and ALS Provider at the Woodstock Volunteer Rescue Squad. In February 2008, he joined the Page County Department of Fire & Rescue as a Firefighter/Paramedic, serving until November 2010. From April 2000 to June 2013, he served as an Emergency Services Provider and President at the Woodstock Volunteer Rescue Squad. Concurrently, he worked as an Anatomy Lab Assistant/Tutor at the Saint James School of Medicine from January 2014 to December 2014. From June 2008 to June 2012, Dr. Daniel worked with the Virginia Department of Health, Office of EMS, focusing on Regulations and Compliance. Lastly, from August 2012 to December 2016, he served as EMS Program Adjunct Faculty at Dabney S. Lancaster Community College.
