Navigating Excellence and Precision in the Field of Pathology 

Kayla Wolven is a dynamic force in the field of pathology, has swiftly made her mark as a certified Pathologists’ Assistant licensed in New York. Her journey from a recent entrant to an accomplished professional has been nothing short of spectacular. 

Kayla has made groundbreaking achievements at Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital (MSLC) by being one of the first pathologists’ assistants in the area to be involved in the operating room for surgeries, integrating them into a collective unit to enhance patient care. At MSLC, Kayla’s innovative approach and advanced knowledge bring a new dimension to the field. Specializing in intricate diagnostic procedures and meticulous tissue analysis, she helps to ensures that patients receive precise and accurate diagnoses. Her pioneering efforts in bridging these specialties not only streamline processes but also contribute to a more comprehensive approach to healthcare delivery.

Graduating with an Associate’s Degree from SUNY OCCC in 2017, Kayla later completed a Bachelor’s Degree at SUNY Albany in 2019. In 2022, she obtained a Master’s Degree in Pathology from Quinnipiac University and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Health Science Degree at the University of Bridgeport, set to be completed in 2026.

Kayla’s formative years were marked by intensive training at renowned institutions like Yale University and prestigious hospitals in Connecticut and New York. Her expertise in surgical pathology and autopsy procedures has been refined over the years, demonstrating a dedication to precision. 

Certified by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), Kayla upholds the highest standards of professionalism and proficiency in her practice. Moreover, she is an engaged member of various professional organizations, like the American Medical Women’s Association and the American Association of Pathologists’ Assistants (AAPA), actively contributing to the advancement of her field. 

As Kayla continues to forge her path in pathology, her commitment to accuracy and excellence remains unwavering. Alongside her peers, working under the guidance of seasoned pathologists, she plays a crucial role in diagnostic laboratories, supporting the seamless functioning of the healthcare system.
