Dr. Toner, a distinguished specialist in maternal fetal medicine, is the Director of Labor and Delivery and Patient Safety at NYC Health + Hospitals Lincoln Hospital and Harlem Hospitals. With an impressive educational background and a strong commitment to patient care, Dr. Toner brings a wealth of expertise to her new roles.

Boasting an academic journey marked by excellence, she earned her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Biochemistry from Plattsburgh State University and New York University, respectively. She furthered her education by obtaining her Doctor of Medicine degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine. Her dedication to continuous learning is evident in her extensive postgraduate training and fellowships at Danbury Hospital, NYU Grossman School of Medicine, and Mount Sinai.

Currently serving as the Secretary for the OB Ultrasound Community for the American Institute for Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM), Dr. Toner remains at the forefront of advancing patient care practices. Her professional interests are centered around patient safety and quality improvement in obstetrics. Her commitment to enhancing healthcare standards is highlighted by her previous role as a fellow member on the SMFM Patient Safety Committee.

When asked about the key to her success, Dr. Toner attributes it to hard work and an unwavering determination to overcome challenges. “Never taking no for an answer and always finding a solution has been crucial in my journey,” she shared. 

Driven by a passion for education, simulation, and patient safety, she is dedicated to achieving health equity and ensuring outstanding obstetric outcomes for all patients. Her unique blend of expertise in Maternal Fetal Medicine and patient care makes her a valuable addition to the healthcare teams at Lincoln Hospital and Harlem Hospital.
