Transitioning seamlessly from academia to medicine, Dr. Hernandez completed her Medical Degree at the State University of New York Upstate Medical University in 2021. Embarking on her medical residency at SUNY Upstate Medical University Hospital, she honed her clinical skills as a resident physician from July 2021 to June 2024 before assuming the pivotal role of VA Chief Resident in Quality Improvement and Patient Safety at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in Syracuse, New York, starting in June 2024.
