What do you attribute your success to?
- My family has been farmers for centuries, so our life has always been hard. I went from a farm in Syria to the greatest country in the world, and I will show my thankfulness for the rest of my life by helping others in this great country. In Syria I was serving in hospitals during the war, but the rebels were kidnapping doctors to care for their own wounded. I\'m so lucky this country gave me a chance so I can now support my family in Syria. This is why I try to do so much more than teach our residents--I want to help them be successful in every way they can be. I look at teaching as more of a mentorship and really go out of my way to be supportive and build them up--I know what it\'s like to be a resident and it is really hard. My mission as a doctor is always to do the best for my patients as if they are my own family that I love so much, and I hope to help our residents take on the same mission.
