Sharing 19 Years of Experience in Empowering Mothers

A dedicated lactation consultant at Crozer-Chester Medical Center in Upland, Pennsylvania, Amy leverages her expertise and passion to support mothers in their breastfeeding journey. In her role as the lead consultant at the medical center, she works tirelessly to provide individualized care to patients, facilitate breastfeeding support groups, and collaborate with a team to enhance breastfeeding rates within the community.

Having graduated from Rutgers University with a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics, her academic background laid a strong foundation for her career in lactation consulting. Her commitment to professional growth is evident through her certifications as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and a Certified Lactation Educator from Evergreen Perinatal Education, LLC, further enhancing her ability to guide and assist mothers in their breastfeeding journey. 

With immense gratitude to the Women, Infants, and Children Supplemental Food Program (WIC Program), where she gained 19 years of invaluable experience, she has honed her skills in assisting women in nourishing their children. Her journey into lactation consulting began with her tenure at the WIC Program, where she was exposed to the disparities surrounding breastfeeding practices.

Motivated by a desire to address these inequities, Amy employs motivational interviewing and patient-centered care techniques to empower mothers in achieving their unique feeding goals. Her proficiency in the Spanish language further enables her to connect with a diverse range of patients, ensuring that language barriers do not hinder the support provided.
