McKinney, Texas - Dr. Urooj Waheed, a well-respected anesthesiologist and accomplished medical professional, continues to make significant strides in the healthcare industry and beyond. As the Senior Partner of US Anesthesia Partners and the Medical Director and Co-founder of Stonebridge Surgery Center, his dedication to excellence is unparalleled.

A graduate of the University of Texas at Arlington, Dr. Waheed pursued his medical education at Kansas City University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine. Following this, he completed his residency at the University of Health Sciences San Antonio, where he honed his skills and expertise in anesthesiology. Notably, Dr. Waheed also served as a Lieutenant in the US Navy, where he provided primary care services to those in need, and received his Master of Business Administration Degree from the University of Dallas. 

Throughout his illustrious career, Dr. Waheed has held various leadership positions on medical committees, showcasing his commitment to enhancing patient care and quality outcomes. His roles as Chairman of the Patient Quality Committee for all HCA facilities in North Texas, Chairman of the Steering Committee for Methodist McKinney Hospital, and Vice President and Chief Medical Officer at Baylor McKinney Hospital have solidified his reputation as a forward-thinking and compassionate healthcare leader.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Dr. Waheed’s impact extends to philanthropy and community service. Together with his wife, Sobia, he co-founded the Zaina Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing support and resources to underprivileged children. Zaina's Home, the Foundation’s flagship orphanage in Hyderabad, India, has become a beacon of hope for over 300 young girls, offering them shelter, education, healthcare, and a nurturing environment in which to thrive.

Driven by a desire to make a lasting difference in the lives of those less fortunate, Dr. Waheed and his family are dedicated to expanding the Foundation’s reach and impact, both in the United States and India. By providing educational opportunities and healthcare services to disadvantaged children, they are empowering the next generation to reach their full potential and create a brighter future for themselves and their communities.
