After relocating from New York to Houston in 2001, she completed her clinical training at Baylor College of Medicine.
Since 2004, Dr. Winer has contributed to the academic community as an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Psychology at Rice University, where she previously served as the Assistant Director of Academic Advising. She has also served on the Baylor College of Medicine faculty, where she has been involved in teaching, mentoring, and academic initiatives.
In addition to her teaching roles, Dr. Winer is actively involved in several professional organizations, including the Houston Group Psychotherapy Society, the American Psychiatric Association, and the International Association for Dance Medicine & Science. She also serves on the Board of the Houston Contemporary Dance Company, reflecting her commitment to the arts and mental health integration.
