Dr. Amanda Baker, is an attending physician in the Department of Radiology at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, New York, specializing in neurointerventional radiology and neuroradiology.

Bringing a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her role, Dr. Baker’s clinical focus is on stroke intervention, pediatric and adult neurovascular imaging, spine and pain intervention, and the treatment of birthmarks and vascular anomalies. Additionally, she serves as an Assistant Professor at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, where she is dedicated to educating the next generation of medical professionals.

Dr. Baker’s impressive academic background began with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nuclear Science and Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 2008. She then pursued her medical education, earning her Medical Degree from Drexel University College of Medicine in 2014. Following her graduation, Dr. Baker completed her residency in diagnostic radiology at Brown University in 2020, where she honed her skills in imaging and diagnostic techniques. She further distinguished herself by completing two fellowships in interventional and diagnostic neuroradiology at the prestigious University of California, San Francisco, finishing in 2023.

As a board certified physician through the American Board of Radiology, Dr. Baker is committed to maintaining the highest standards of patient care and advancing the field of neurointerventional radiology. She is actively involved in several professional organizations, including the American Society of Pediatric Neuroradiology, the American Society of Spine Radiology, the American Society of Neuroradiology, and the American Roentgen Ray Society. Furthermore, she is a member of the Women in Neurointervention committee of the Society of Neurointerventional Surgery, where she advocates for gender equity and the advancement of women in the field.

As diverse as her clinical focus are Dr. Baker’s research interests, which encompass interventional and diagnostic pediatric neuroradiology, neurointerventional oncology, spine health, and gender equity in medicine. She has made significant contributions to the medical community through her extensive research, which she has shared through peer-reviewed publications, book chapters, abstracts, and invited presentations at national meetings. 

Dr. Baker’s commitment to research ensures that she remains at the forefront of advancements in neurointerventional techniques and patient care. Her dedication to patient care, coupled with her extensive training and leadership in the field, positions her as a valuable asset to the medical community and the patients she serves.
