Dr. James Apesos is a cosmetic medicine and surgery specialist practicing in Dayton, OH. Dr. Apesos specializes in the enhancement of appearance, improving aesthetic symmetry, and proportion area all key goals in cosmetic surgery. Cosmetic medicine tries to rejuvenare and enhance the appearance with the patient's goals in mind; therefore, this elective field solely focuses on understanding the patient's goals.
Dr. Apesos began his plastic surgery career in college at the University of Pennsylvania, where he studied and conducted research on wound healing in the plastic surgery research laboratory. He published work on the nature of wound healing and wound strength. Having completed college in 3 years he was awarded a fellowship position to study with Noble Prize winner Rupert Billingham in Cambridge England. However, he decided to stay stateside and continued research at Columbia University with John Fletcger Prudden, MD studyng bone healing.
He attended the Georgetown University School of Medicine and completed a five year residency in General Surgery. Finally he studied plastic and hand surgery at the University of Virginia with Milton Edgerton, MD. Although his original goal was surgical research in plastic surgey he found treating patients to be his real love. Today he has a dynamic practice in plastic surgery treating new patients and correcting plastic surgey problems.
