About

Dr. Boyars is a licensed psychologist and nationally certified school psychologist. Her research on social-emotional skills has won awards from national and state-level organizations. She does comprehensive neuropsychological assessment with children and adolescents, with a focus on ADHD, subtle autism, and learning disabilities like dyslexia.  She also has specialized experience in trauma and its effect on school performance. Dr. Boyars' greatest priority is to help children and teens discover their strengths to reach their potential and improve relationships, both at school and in life. As someone with mild dyslexia herself, Dr. Boyars knows how hard it can be for children to navigate school — and as a mom, she knows how hard it is to raise neurodiverse kids. Fortunately, Dr. Boyars also see how identification is a crucial first step to map out the tools needed for our children’s success.

Outside of work, Dr. Boyars stay connected to the world of school intervention through pro bono teacher consultation and executive functioning groups (such as the Unstuck and On Target! curriculum). This connection helps ensure that her assessments include relevant and doable recommendations, both for school and everyday life at home.
