Mr. Nathan Gerhards is a Registered Polysomnographist, (RPSGT) under the Board of Registered Polysomnography Technologists (BRPT) for over 20 years. Has helped in sleep medicine all over the United States. He began his career as a member of a small team opening up the first sleep lab in Juneau, AK in 2021. He's currently performing his craft in Aberdeen, WA for at least 12 years. Mr. Gerhards helps in studies, diagnoses, and treatments to sleep disturbances and disorders due to varying factors. Sleep medicine includes many different conditions, including insomnia, narcolepsy, sleep apnea, idiopathic hypersomnia, hypersomnia, and circadian rhythm disturbances, among others.

What do you attribute your success to?
- He attributes his success to his curiosity in medicine and great training and mentors along his was to find his calling. He fell in love with medicine when he was in boy scouts at a very young age, and as he grew so did his love and curiosity for the field. He grew up in Alska, and after graduating high school he joined the Navy while continuing to study medicine. He served for four years, and worked with Dr. Dementi whom was also known as the Father of Sleep Medicine to open up a lab, which became the first sleep study lab in Juneau, Alaska. He enjoys what he does and has learned that ,\"Sleep is the base line of health, and not sleeping is the deter mite to your physical and psychological health.\" He has been working in the field as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist for the last 20 plus years and enjoys going to work and taking care of his patients each and every day. He enjoys reading the Medical Journal ASM in his spare time and can be found on LinkedIn.
