Bauer, M.D., Chair of Surgery and Chief of Thoracic Surgery at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, enhances the comprehensive and cutting-edge treatment options available to patients in the region.

With a strong focus on patient comfort and open communication, Dr. NeMoyer takes a hands-on approach to patient care. She emphasizes the importance of involving family members in the treatment process, ensuring that her patients feel supported from the initial consultation through surgery and recovery. “My goal is to create a collaborative environment where patients and their families are informed and active participants in their care,” says Dr. NeMoyer. 

Dr. NeMoyer has extensive training in a variety of thoracic surgical procedures, including airway surgery, chest wall surgery, diaphragm surgery, esophagus and stomach surgery, lung surgery, mediastinum surgery, pleura surgery, and robotic surgery. Her comprehensive skill set positions her as a leading surgeon in the field, committed to achieving the best possible outcomes for her patients.

Dr. NeMoyer’s academic background is as impressive as her clinical skills. She earned her Bachelor of Science Degree from Penn State University in 2010, followed by a Doctor of Medicine Degree from the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the University at Buffalo in 2014. She further enhanced her expertise with a Master of Public Health Degree in Epidemiology and Global Health from Rutgers School of Public Health in 2018. Dr. NeMoyer completed her general surgery residency at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School from July 2014 to June 2021 and went on to a cardiothoracic fellowship at the prestigious Cleveland Clinic from July 2021 to June 2023.

During her training, Dr. NeMoyer garnered numerous honors and contributed to significant clinical trials and publications. Her mentorship under world-renowned experts in advanced esophagectomy and segmentectomy surgical techniques at the Cleveland Clinic has equipped her with unparalleled knowledge. She is also trained and certified in advanced robotics on the da Vinci Surgical System, receiving recognition as an AATS Thoracic Surgical Robotic Fellowship recipient.

Outside of her professional achievements, Dr. NeMoyer is an avid outdoor enthusiast. While she dreams of playing the guitar, she spends her free time hiking, skiing, and snowshoeing. Her adventurous spirit drives her desire to explore the mountains of Patagonia in South America and to conquer Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. Additionally, she enjoys cooking and baking, with a reputation for her delectable red velvet cookies, carrot cake, and Tres Leches cheesecake.
