About

About me
Hello! I am Dr. Tina Denise McDyess, a dedicated healthcare professional with extensive experience in nursing and mental health. I hold a PhD in Nursing Leadership and a Doctorate in Christian Education. As a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I am passionate about helping my patients find balance and well-being.

I've worked directly with patients in mental health settings, offering therapy, medication management, and support to patients across the life span (ages 5 to 85). I've helped clients develop skills, manage behavior, and create plans for better mental and emotional health. I have experiences in treating depression, anxiety, ADHD, ODD, bipolar disorder, mood disorders, and trauma.

I began my journey in healthcare with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, followed by a Bachelor's and Master's in Nursing. Over the years, I've had the privilege of teaching and guiding nursing students at both the clinical and academic levels. My teaching experience includes various subjects such as mental health, leadership, and professional development.

Treatment philosophy
At Inner Peace Mental Wellness Center, we believe that true healing begins from within. Our philosophy is rooted in the idea that mental well-being is a journey, not a destination, and that everyone deserves the opportunity to discover their own path to inner peace.

At the heart of our philosophy is the belief that every person has the potential for growth and transformation. We help individuals to reconnect with themselves, develop resilience, and cultivate the tools they need to navigate life’s challenges with grace and confidence. We provide mental health care that fosters self-awareness, self-compassion, and inner strength which helps our clients unlock their capacity for peace, balance, and fulfillment.

Practice description
Inner Peace Mental Wellness Center provides a safe space that helps clients restore the peace within. We treat clients across the lifespan with a range of mental health needs (anxiety, depression, mood disorders, ADHD, ODD, PTSD, etc.). Care is deeply rooted in caring for you as a “whole person. It is our goal that each client leave the session feeling therapeutically connected to the provider and feeling seen and heard.

When I'm not caring for patients, I love to travel and spend time with my family. I also ensure to stay updated by reading some of latest mental health research and participating in ongoing education. I believe in providing compassionate, evidence-based care to everyone I have the pleasure of assisting.

Feel free to reach out—I'm here to help you on your journey to better health and well-being!
