About

I am Ivie Okunor, the proud owner of CareVille Psychiatry and a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC), specializing in adolescent and adult psychiatry. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Fairfield University, graduating with honors. After beginning my career as an acute care dialysis nurse, I joined the Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS), where I discovered a deep passion for psychiatry and mental health. This experience inspired me to pursue and complete my Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with a focus on psychiatry.

I am dedicated to providing culturally sensitive, person-centered, and evidence-based care, guiding my patients through mental health challenges with confidence and resilience. Building positive relationships with my patients, their families, and the care team is essential to achieving the best possible treatment outcomes. My expertise covers a wide range of psychiatric disorders, including depression, anxiety, ADHD, bipolar disorder, PTSD, panic attacks, OCD, and schizophrenia spectrum disorders. With a commitment to compassion and excellence, I strive to enhance the mental well-being of every patient I serve.

TREATMENT PHILOSOPHY:

I believe that taking care of your mental health is an act of self-love. I create a supportive, safe, and non-judgmental space where we collaborate to create a personalized treatment plan that empowers you to thrive. I provide culturally sensitive, compassionate, evidence-based care by integrating a blend of psychotherapy and medication management to enhance the mental health and overall well-being of my patients. My expertise spans a wide range of psychiatric disorders across the lifespan, including depression, anxiety, ADHD, bipolar disorder, PTSD, panic attacks, OCD, and schizophrenia spectrum disorders. With a commitment to compassion and excellence, I strive to foster trust, reduce stigma, and positively impact your journey to recovery.
