Dr. Megha Abraham is a primary care and sports medicine specialist. As a former athlete and current gym enthusiast, Dr. Abraham understands the importance of optimizing physical activity to help prevent injuries. Her goal is to get her patients back safely to doing what they love.
Dr. Abraham is an assistant professor at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston. She is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and holds a Certificate of Added Qualification (CAQ) in Sports Medicine. She earned her Doctor of Medicine at Xavier University School of Medicine. Dr. Abraham completed her family medicine residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, MI. She then completed a sports medicine fellowship at UTHealth Houston before joining on as faculty.
Dr Abraham’s clinical interests include musculoskeletal injury management and prevention, concussion management, endurance sports, exercise prescription, and ultrasound guided procedures.
Currently Dr. Abraham serves as a team physician for Spring Branch ISD and medical staff for the Chevron Houston Marathon.

Houston Native Brings Expertise in Injury Management and Community Health to Local Patients
Houston, Texas – UT Physicians Orthopedics – Memorial Villages is pleased to announce the addition of Megha Abraham, MD, a primary care and sports medicine specialist, to its medical team. As a Houston native and former athlete, Dr. Abraham is passionate about helping her patients enhance their physical activity while minimizing the risk of injury. Her clinical interests focus on musculoskeletal injury prevention and management, concussion diagnosis and management, endurance sports, exercise prescription, and ultrasound-guided procedures.
Dr. Abraham completed her Doctor of Medicine at Xavier University School of Medicine in 2019 and went on to finish her family medicine residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan, in 2023. She further honed her expertise with a sports medicine fellowship at UTHealth Houston in 2024.
With her board certification from the American Board of Family Medicine and a Certificate of Added Qualification (CAQ) in Sports Medicine, Dr. Abraham is well-equipped to provide comprehensive care to her patients. Her membership extends to the American Academy of Family Physicians, the American College of Sports Medicine, and the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine.
In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Abraham serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston. Her role extends beyond academia as she is actively involved with the local community, serving as a team physician for Spring Branch Independent School District and the medical staff for the Chevron Houston Marathon.
