Barbara’s journey began as a volunteer EMT at Nansemond Suffolk VRS in 2008, where she discovered her passion for helping others and set her sights on becoming an Advanced Life Support Medic. During her years as a volunteer, she experienced a variety of medical and trauma emergencies that helped develop her skills and advance her knowledge into becoming an Advanced Life Support Medic. 

Driven by her desire for a more hands-on approach to support communities and individuals in need, Barbara transitioned into the paid medical field, working for several medical transportation companies across Hampton Roads. Her invaluable experience and compassionate nature gave her the confidence to start her own medical transport business in 2013.

Since founding Tidewater Medical Transport, Inc., Barbara has turned it into a trusted and respected provider of medical transportation services. Under her leadership, the company continues to thrive, embodying a commitment to quality care and customer service. Barbara’s entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to improving the lives of others are the driving forces behind its success.

Tidewater Medical Transport, Inc. is a woman-owned and operated emergency and non-emergency transport company in Tidewater. The company prides itself on hiring some of the region’s top Basic and Advanced Life Support providers, ensuring exceptional care to patients who are hospice-bound, ventilator-dependent, or have heart conditions that require cardiac monitoring and IV medications. In addition, Tidewater Medical Transport, Inc. facilitates transport to and from various medical facilities, including nursing homes, rehab centers, hospitals, doctor’s offices, cancer treatment centers, dialysis centers, and other outpatient medical facilities.
