Dr. Aoibheann (Aye-vin) Sparrow is a post-doctoral psychologist. Graduating from Adler University with an academic emphasis on medical psychology, their main focus is behavioral changes and health conditions. This includes weight management focused therapy, insomnia and sleep related conditions, sexual health, psychogenic nonepileptic seizures, medication management, pain management, pre or post organ transplant and more. Solution Based Focused Therapy (SBFT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBTi), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) are their specialty with these conditions. They also do testing for pre-surgical evaluations for solid organ transplant, spinal cord stimulator, and bariatric. Prior to becoming a therapist, Dr. Sparrow medically retired from the U.S. Army as a mechanic, worked EMS as an EMT, and worked nights in an Emergency Room. Working with individuals that have experienced trauma through a cognitive processing therapy (CPT) and ACT approach. First responders and current/former serving military individuals are another population



Dr. Sparrow specializes working with. Military and veteran medical clearance and testing is another asset that Dr. Sparrow provides to the community. Additionally, Dr. Sparrow engages with Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), ACT, SBFT, Aderian, and MI approaches with individual and couple’s work. For individuals, trauma, behavioral changes, emotional understanding, and communication are some of the many focused that Dr. Sparrow engages with. Dr. Sparrow also specializes in couples therapy for both monogamous and polyamorous couples aiming to better communication, emotional understanding, conflict resolution, and intimacy misalignments that can arise in a relationship. Dr. Sparrow focuses on social justice, social equity, and niched communities that are in need of aid, inside and outside of the therapy room. This includes cleaning up the environment and creating care packages for those that are experiencing homelessness on their spare time.



Community involvement is a large part of Dr. Sparrow’s life. They are within the LQBTQIA+, kink, and poly communities as well as the hearing reduced community after a recent change in their health that led to partial deafness. Safety, confidentiality, and inclusion is crucial for a therapeutic setting, which is underpinning of Dr. Sparrow’s therapeutic character. Therapy is like a marathon run. The path or modality can change, the pace can change, and the one running with you can change. These changes come from open and honest communication with your therapist. It is a hard process, but at the end, you will cross that finish line with your hard earn mental health success.
